Christ Church will welcome our newest member Reggie at coffee hour then bless the critters we live live with. Reggie is Peg Watts' new guide dog. Photos to follow.

Red Door Cafe - Saturday, 21 September 2013, 7:00 pm till 9:00 pm

The church with the red doors on Diamond Park - Christ Church - is launching a monthly music series on third Saturday evenings from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm beginning Saturday, 21 September 2013. The concerts will take place downstairs in the Parish Hall which is handicapped accessible from North Cottage Street between Center and Walnut Streets.

Local acoustic musicians will be featured. Coffee and tea plus other goodies will be available.

The initial evening on 21 September will feature folk duo “Music Therapy,” with Mason and Papa John Brown. They are well-known and highly regarded locally for entertaining in hospitals and similar places.

Suggested donation is $3.00.

Come and enjoy a relaxed evening with friendly people and good music at a reasonable cost.

Underwriters are welcome as are acoustic (only) performing groups. Email the church for more information.

Corned beef and cabbage dinner 17 Mar 2103, 12:30pm

Christ Church (the church with the red doors on Diamond Park) invites the community to a corned beef and cabbage dinner on Sunday, 17 March 2013 from 12:30 pm until the food runs out or 3:00 pm whichever comes first. DJ Jim Brink will provide Irish music. Cindy Thompson from the Market House Grill will be in charge of the kitchen. The $10 menu will include corned beef, cabbage, potatoes, green beans, rolls and apple sauce. Both take out and eat in will be available. Reservations are strongly advised. Please include your name, the number of meals, whether take out or eat in and the approximate time you will arrive. Parking is available on the Diamond or in the lot on Center St. Level access to the Parish Hall is from North Cottage Street behind the church.

Annual Meeting/Potluck, 27 January 2013

The Annual Meeting of Christ Church Meadville will happen after the 10:00 am eucharist on Sunday, 27 January 2013.

A potluck will follow in the parish hall. There is a signup list on the easel by the office.

Annual gathering with turkeys

Christ Church's annual turkey dinner provided a large variety of fabulous food most of which was demolished. We even had stuffed cabbage courtesy of our new custodians. None remained to take home. Grump.

The dessert table was also well stocked. A couple pieces of blueberry pie went home with the Bishop's Warden fortunately.

The leftovers including a turkey, mostly planned, were delivered to Women's Services.

Christ Church's Annual Turkey Dinner

At 6:00 pm on Friday 16 November 2012, we will gather in the Parish Hall (downstairs) for our annual turkey dinner. Three turkeys have been donated. All the other fixin's will be needed. There is a signup sheet on the easel by the office to help us know what is needed. Help will be needed in the afternoon - whenever you can come - and for cleanup. Bring your family. Bring your friends. Bring something to share. See you there!

The chronicle

Christ Church's newsletter the Chronicle has a new editor. So far we can't find an "easy" way to get it online. She uses MS Publisher which is not available for the Mac and does not put out an internet friendly version that we know of. Please pick up your copy at church or leave your name (and postal address if we don't have it) in the comments and we will mail it to you.

We have had pinkish doors for a number of years. Since we are known locally as the church with the red doors, that had to change. Thanks to those who made it possible!
